For 30 years we have been developing and manufacturing a range of hand crafted pre-sliced desserts and cakes for restaurants, coffee shops and hotels around the UK and Europe. With our State of the art facility in Leicester we bring you a whole range of new and exciting products.
The business has changed over the last few years, we are proud to be supplying supermarkets around the globe with cheesecakes and desserts for you the consumer to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
1990 South Wigston: Martin Zalesny Starts making desserts in the kitchen of his terrace house and buys his first Hobart mixer, which whips 20ltrs of cream at a time. He would supply local restaurants and hotels with desserts and savories. Julie Joins him in selling the cakes and desserts.
1993 Unit A: The business is now growing and with 1 van on the road, they invest in their first factory.
1994 sees Vittles win a BT competition with the Daily Mail and a prize of £2000.00 towards telephone equipment. Peter Simpson, Pastry Chef joins the company in 1995, products are now being sold across 3 county’s with 2 vans on the road. We start to supply national and regional wholesalers with our cakes.
1998 Unit L1, with a Delice de France contract we invest in our next factory purpose built and two brand new vans. We start supplying across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
2013 Martin and Julie decide to sell the business and in steps Givesco Bakeries, a true family business based in Denmark.
2018 Boston Road: the opening of a new 3000m2 bakery in Leicester and new branding. This sees a significant investment in a state of the art production lines, with the view to supplying products not only locally and across Europe but Globally.
2020 We’ve sold over Toblerone cheesecakes around the world! we are now supplying desserts across Europe, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Singapore and adding to the countries we supply to every month.
